Sydney Institute

TAFE NSW Sydney is located in Sydney's inner city, eastern suburbs and extends southwards to Sutherland near the Royal National Park. It has more than 2,000 international students from over 80 countries.

In 2011, the TAFE NSW celebrated its 120-year anniversary. The Institute has seven colleges located in and around the city centre, close to many of Sydney's famous tourist attractions - the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Chinatown, Bondi Beach and Cronulla Beach.

What's it like to live there?

The inner city areas of Sydney, such as Newtown, Glebe, Surry Hills and Paddington, contain a vibrant and culturally diverse community. The St George and Sutherland Shire areas have a strong surfing culture and offer multicultural communities in suburbs such as Rockdale and Kogarah. And Sydney International and Domestic Airports are only 15 minutes from the city centre.

Student testimonial

"I chose TAFE NSW  Sydney  for its international recognition, practical teaching, location facilities and University pathways. The facilities here are world class, especially the access for disabled students, learning centres, library and easily approachable counsellors. The careers advisors are amazing – they really helped me to find a job. The teachers are incredible. The course is well structured so that you will surely fall in love with it. I would definitely recommend Sydney TAFE to everyone."
